Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of international agencies in Colombia, and how domestic power factors have sometimes served as limits to the action and claims of such agencies. We argue that despite their sectorial focus through specific agencies, the actions of international agencies have inescapable political consequences that must be clearly understood. And it is that the intention is precisely to be clear about the factors that make the different countries and continents interdependent, to elucidate the dimension of the dependence of industrialized countries with respect to commodities, food, work, opportunities for international trade, and control of the environment offered by poor countries.
