Abstract

The present work focuses on some of the contributing factors to the sustainability of collective action and their results. From the characterization of two collective mobilizations processes within the context of youth policies and programs in Mexico between 2004 and 2015, it is observed that collective action emerges from the selforganization of society, in which, factors such as participants’ capacities and their communication influence the sustainability of collective processes even more than the potential net benefits for the individuals who are collaborating.
